Special Ultrasound Series
for the Emergency Physician
The American College of Emergency Physicians has endorsed the performance of ultrasound by emergency physicians and it is now a standard part of the core curriculum for emergency medicine residents. This intensive "hands-on/how-to" seminar utilizes a series of didactic, workshop and small group sessions to accomplish one goal - to prepare you to perform and to interpret bedside ultrasounds in emergency situations. Each registrant may enroll in both ultrasound workshops.
Due to the intensive one-on-one nature of this course, attendance is limited.

Objectives: Participants will perform ultrasound examinations at different stations on live models and learn how to:
- Prepare an ultrasound machine for use
- Locate and measure the aorta
- Perform a transabdominal pelvic ultrasound
- Perform a rapid (FAST) trauma ultrasound exam
- Identify the pericardium, pericardial fluid, and cardiac activity
- Identify the kidneys, liver & biliary system Image foreign bodies
- Evaluate for pneumothoracies
- Rapidly identify the cause of undifferentiated hypotension
- and more!
Registrants may enroll in up to two ultrasound workshops for up to 11 total hours of ultrasound instruction.

Fee for the Full Day Ultrasound Course is $395 and includes lunch.
Fee for each Advanced Ultrasound Workshop is $125.
