This workshop is designed to offer the participant intensive,
hands-on experience with advanced airway techniques including: difficult intubations, fiberopticassisted intubation, percutaneous transtracheal intubation, laryngeal mask airways, and surgical cricothyrotomy. Pharmacological aids to rapid sequence intubation will be discussed.

This workshop will demonstrate how many ED procedures can be made easier and safer using real-time ultrasound guidance. Participants will have the opportunity to practice
using ultrasound machines. Procedures covered include central line placement, pericardiocentesis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, arthrocentesis, foreign body removal, abscess detection and bladder size estimation..

Get hands-on procedural training for the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and diseases. You will learn and practice innovative techniques for joint (shoulder, hip, elbow, fingers, knee, and ankle) reductions and relocations, and techniques for joint aspirations. Athletic taping of sprain injuries and the construction and application of immobilization splints will be demonstrated.

PEDIATRIC PROCEDURES & PALS LAB

After a brief update on the latest PALS guidelines you’ll
practice the most common pediatric procedures using
state-of-the-art mannequins. These will include: pediatric
intubations, LMAs, jet ventilation, cricothyrotomy, and fiberoptic intubations. You’ll learn how to place umbilical catheters, how to get that difficult lumbar puncture and also become an expert in placing intraosseous lines. Hands-on practice with newer IO technologies such as the EZ-IO drill or the Bone Injection Gun is included. The unexpected is the norm at our resuscitation stations: PSVT, pneumothorax,
seizures, and more.
